About Kitchen Recommends

Helping you choose the right kitchen tools — without the marketing noise.

If you’ve ever spent an hour scrolling through hundreds of nearly-identical kitchen products on Amazon, comparing star ratings that never seem to match the actual reviews, you know exactly why Kitchen Recommends exists.

I built this site to do that research for you.

Hi, I’m Ayoub

I’m the founder, researcher, and writer behind Kitchen Recommends. I’m not a chef. I’m not a culinary school graduate. I’m a regular home cook who got tired of buying kitchen gadgets that looked great in product photos and disappointed in real life.

Like most people, I cook when I have time — sometimes a quick weeknight meal, sometimes weekend experiments that don’t always go as planned. And like most people, I’ve wasted money on tools that promised everything and delivered very little.

That’s how this site started.

How I Write These Reviews

Let me be transparent about something: I don’t claim to have personally tested every product I write about. That kind of claim is common in the affiliate space, and most of the time, it’s not true.

Here’s what I actually do:

  • Deep research. I read hundreds of verified buyer reviews across Amazon, Reddit, specialized forums, and YouTube — not just the top-rated comments, but the critical ones too. The 3-star reviews tell you more than the 5-star ones ever will.
  • Cross-reference expert sources. Wirecutter, America’s Test Kitchen, Serious Eats, Consumer Reports — when these publications have tested a product, I read what they found and factor it in.
  • Compare specifications carefully. Wattage, materials, capacity, warranty terms — small differences matter, and most product listings hide them.
  • Look for red flags. Recurring complaints, build quality issues, and unrealistic marketing claims get flagged in my reviews.
  • Write honestly. If a popular product has serious flaws, I’ll say so — even if it costs me a sale.

What This Site Is — And What It Isn’t

This site is a research-driven resource for home cooks who want to make smarter buying decisions without spending hours comparing products.

This site isn’t a place where every product gets a glowing review. If something isn’t worth your money, I’ll tell you. If a $30 air fryer outperforms a $200 one for typical home use, I’ll point that out too.

A Note on Affiliate Links

Yes, this is an affiliate site. When you click a link to Amazon and make a purchase, I earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you.

Here’s my commitment: affiliate income never decides what I recommend. The product that earns me the highest commission isn’t always the product I’d tell you to buy, and you’ll see me recommend cheaper alternatives often.

The trust of someone reading this page right now is worth more than any single sale.
